School Safety

The safety of our students, staff, and buildings is our #1 priority at Southeast Dubois Schools.  In alignment with this goal, we are lucky to have Mr. Eric Hopkins serve as our full time School Resource Officer (SRO). Officer Hopkins graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy and served as a police officer for the Ferdinand Police Department from 2014 through 2021.  Throughout the past several years, he became certified as a Physical Tactics Instructor, Ground Fighting Instructor, TASER Instructor, and is also certified as a SRO by the National Association for School Resource Officers.

"In 2014, I was fortunate enough to be hired as an assistant coach for the Forest Park High School football team.  Coaching allowed me the opportunity to create positive and meaningful relationships with players, their families, and staff.  The friendships that I have made through coaching will last a lifetime.  The values, work ethic, and pride that is instilled in this community are directly in line with mine.  I knew that if there was ever an opportunity to combine my passion for Law Enforcement with my love for Ranger Nation, I would not pass it up.  I feel truly blessed to serve as the School Resource Officer.  I am proud to help maintain a safe learning environment for all students and staff at Southeast Dubois School Corporation."
